York St John University’s Music Production Course approached me to create a platform for students to contribute articles and news about course life. As well as providing more information, photos, and key details about the courses, facilities, faculty, and their alumni.
Approach
My goal was to design a website that reflects the vibe of the Music Production Course – clean, modern, with a contemporary aesthetic. I chose a minimalist colour palette and sharp typography for a visually pleasing and seamless user experience. Using high-resolution imagery of the tech and studio spaces at York St John University, the goal was to create a fluid and cohesive flow throughout the site.
It was also important to create a dedicated ‘listening’ page — allowing prospective students and parents to explore the talents of current students through a diverse range of productions. Each project showcased not only the music but also the artist, producer, and the project’s aim.
Project Outcome
The resulting website adopted a sleek and modern design, effectively showcasing the facilities and course specifics in an easy-to-navigate format. The news/articles section provided a platform for student voices, covering topics ranging from course life, news, and music/tech reviews.
This website serves as a window into the course’s vibrant community for prospective students, empowering them to make informed decisions that align with their interests and goals.
